Since 1962
A family campground
run by family.
More than six decades of summer memories.
The Baldwin family opened Hidden Acres in 1962 with a simple idea: give families a quiet, beautiful place to get away from it all. The Coatesville countryside, with its rolling hills and mature trees, was the perfect setting.
Sixty-plus years later, the idea hasn't changed. The campground has grown — more sites, a pool, a lodge, a game room — but the spirit is the same. A place where kids run wild, parents relax, and strangers become friends around a fire.
We've hosted guests from all 50 states and dozens of countries. Some came for a single weekend. Others have been coming every summer for 20, 30, even 40 years. Their kids now bring their own kids.

How we got here.
Hidden Acres opens its gates for the first time in Coatesville, PA. A handful of sites, a fishing pond, and a vision for family camping.
The swimming pool is added. A second pond is stocked. Word spreads and the campground fills through the summer.
The community lodge is built. It becomes a weekly tradition — a gathering place for activities like bingo, potlucks, and more. Weekend events start drawing campers from across the region.
The arcade opens. Full hookups are expanded to cover all sites. Seasonal campers start filling early — many returning year after year.
The playground is rebuilt. A third generation of the Baldwin family joins the operation. Families who came as kids bring their own children.
More than 60 years in, Hidden Acres is still a family operation. The campground has hosted guests from all 50 states and around the world.

The best summers don't need Wi-Fi.
Families come first.
Every decision we make starts with "is this good for the families who camp here." That's been the guiding principle since 1962.
A clean campground is a respectful one.
The pool is maintained daily. Sites are well-kept. The lodge is spotless before every event. Guests notice, and we think they deserve it.
Community is the whole point.
The lodge, the events, the potlucks — all designed to help strangers become neighbors. Some of the best friendships started here.
